Hello, I'm considering having the community in Slack or Discord instead of these forums. Please vote for the option you want, if you have not already voted, here:
FYI, we have moved to Discord and Reddit. See the footer for information.

Hi. We moved the forum to Discord
Discord is a free voice, video, and text chat app that's used by tens of millions of people ages 13+ to talk and hang out with their communities and friends. People use pay someone to write my college essay Discord daily to talk about many things, ranging from art projects and family trips to homework and mental health support.
The main difference between the both lies in their target community. Discord has almost become synonymous with gaming with millions of gamers using the platform for live chat, Pay for research paper online, etc. Slack, on the other hand, is exclusively used for business communication.
I know i'm a little late to the conversation but I think Discord is excellent for an Idea dump and presenting for review but for the assigning of tasks, it would be up to whoever is in charge to keep track of because things can definitely get muddled if not handled well. So for a wiki or a resource cache you could try Obsidian Portal if you want to do like Wiki articles and help folks keep track of correct source material and references. But for general collaboration, i think Discord is the way to go.
One way to handle the way things are assigned would be to open a Trello board. I use them pretty regularly in my work life, and you should be able to link to and from a SubReddit with it.
As far as a sub, I'd say just the one. You can pin threads so they remain visible and appear at the top of the sub easily. With a little planning up front you can structure the comments to sort the "World Building" thread into things like "Put replies relating to race comments here" and "put replies relating to geography here." It's not quite as powerful as a wiki or a structured forum, like this one, where discussions can be more carefully ordered, but it is, I think, a more popular and probably more vibrant medium for anyone younger than fifty.
Discord is probably more useful than what I use it for, but I've generally used it for voice/video chat with my gaming group. The dice bot and ability to post XP rewards, character sheets and the like, but it strikes me like a commercialized IRC.
I'd say that either Reddit or the Forum are the preferable platforms as asynchronous communications, longer responses and the more measured pace nurture more thoughtful and, generally more genteel, interactions.
